MBFWA Day Two Wrap Up

We were there for all the action for day two of Mecrdez Benz Fashion Week. Continuing the trend of designers who left us breathless, we took a front row seat & nabbed an exclusive backstage interview with one at one of the most talked about shows of the festival.

Toni Maticevski steered away from his traditional palette of monochromes, and instead took us on a journey into a bright world of colour, with hues of orange and reds. His signature of look of delicate silks, interwoven with feathers was present with the 14/15 collection on display, to which he credits futuristic elements such as time travel and the thought of sending models into space.

Michael Lo Soldo, put on an extravagant show with models donning loose fitting garments that flowed effortlessly, mixed with structural pieces that sat in all the right places.

Surprisingly both escaped criticism for their choice of models. Alex Perry, Carla Zampatti and Kahlo all came under fire this week for their choice of thin girls. Notably Cassi Van Den Dungen and Nicole Pollard  received the most condemnation with the editor in chief of Maree Clair Jackie Frank calling the girls agents directly after the show to enquire about their health.

It’s time to take out your Fall clothing because Fall is here!!! The time where yes you can still eat ice cream but at the same time you can drink hot Chocolate without feeling either too cold or too hot. This is the Weather where it’s ok to jog with shorts and a long sleeve shirt on (or the other way around). Fall is said to be the love season because of how beautiful the leaves are and when your waking in the park, all you can think about is your significant other who is probably thinking of you too. So enjoy this season because after this comes winter.

Have you ever wondered when you will get married? When will that right person come into your life to make you complete, or whole? A lot of people have thought that almost everyday. When you see a couple in a restaurant, and the guy proposes and you see your girlfriend in aw, that may be a signal that you both were waiting for. To make sure that you guys fill the same way about each other, you need to first tell each other how you feel from the hear. Jewelry and fancy restaurants are not going to help. When you make a commitment to someone, you want to stick with that. You cannot start something and then all of a sudden stop committing to it because you found something better. Think long and hard, “Is this something I want to do? For the rest of my life?” If the answer is yes, then you are on the right path. Remember there is no rush to get married, take your time to know the person and spend time with one another. Marriage can have its ups and downs but the positives outweigh the negatives, keep that in mind. There is a lot more to say but I think I hit the majority key points.
